clean space

To you, this area probably looks pretty dingy, depressing and boring. To me, it looks pretty clean, crisp and, well, boring. This is my office. I spent three days scrubbing the floor and washing the walls to expose the gray-blue floor tiles and off-white walls. McMurdo, set on a volcanic island, is a filthy place to be and some parts of this office had not been cleaned for years.

It will be back to the same dirty place soon enough, but for a few weeks, I can work in reasonable cleanliness.
