Over the weekend, Jeremy and Kirrin and I went to visit Jeremy's family in Tauranga. The car ride was not too long and we stopped a couple times on the way for coffee and snacks. It was real fun to meet his parents, Tess and Bill, who were also great at preparing big flavor-filled meals and Jeremy's twin brothers, too.
Monday was the Labor holiday in New Zealand, so we left on Saturday and came back on Monday.
Sunday we had a real leisurely day. We went to nearby Mount Maunangui and climbed to the top. It was a much steeper excursion than I anticipated, but a great bit of exercise anyway. There is a fantastic view from the top of the mount in all directions of the nearby towns and mountains up the Coromandel coastline.
After the sweaty hike, we sat in the salt water hot pools at the bottom for an hour. On our sore legs, the pools felt wonderful! Then we went for way-too-big Coppenhagen ice Cream across the street and walked around some. This was very nearly a perfect sunny Sunday!
